Texas Football: 3 big-time prospects Sark could land over the Sooners
Devon Campbell, OG
There are a handful of key blue-chip targets of the Longhorns 2022 class that fans have eagerly awaited to hear more from of late. Two of the most important blue-chip targets for the Longhorns 2022 class and Sark, in particular, are the elite five-star Bowie offensive guard Devon Campbell and five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris.
But of those two five-star recruits for the Longhorns, Campbell is the one that the Sooners are still heavily pursuing on the trail. Oklahoma and Texas are two of the five assumed frontrunners to watch in pursuit of Campbell heading into the summer months. The other three schools are the LSU Tigers, USC Trojans, and Alabama.
Texas has new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood as the primary recruiter on Campbell. Since Flood was also one of the primary recruiters after Campbell when he was Alabama’s offensive line coach, that could help the Longhorns case as his decision starts to unfold in the coming months.
Campbell did have an official visit with USC last weekend, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that Texas is still the frontrunner to get him in their 2022 class. It will also be key to watch his official visit with Oklahoma on June 25. But as long as Texas can keep his interests in line with them for the summer, he should still be favorited to land on the Forty Acres.
