Texas Football: 3 5-Star prospects Sark is trending up with during OV’s
Denver Harris, CB
Another one of the biggest official visitors on campus last weekend for Sark and the Longhorns was the elite five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris. And most accounts are showing a rousing success for the visit last weekend with Harris. Texas needed to get this one right, and it looks like they did about as good as they could have.
Official visit season could wind up narrowing down the finalists to land a commitment from Harris when his decision date comes between Alabama, Texas, and LSU. He’s also visited with head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs this month. He actually visited Georgia on June 21 and has his official visit with the Crimson Tide on the books for June 25.
Watching what happens on his official visit with Alabama could be key to the direction of Harris’ recruitment throughout the rest of the summer months. But Texas likely did what they could for now with this uber-talented Houston-area product.
Texas has new cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph and Banks as the top recruiters going after Harris. Meanwhile, Alabama has a crew that includes former Texas cornerbacks coach Jay Valai and defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach Pete Golding after Harris.
Texas, Alabama, and LSU are three of the nearly 40 schools on Harris’ offer sheet. Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet are the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Texas A&M, Clemson Tigers, Florida, Florida State Seminoles, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, TCU Horned Frogs, and USC.
