Texas Football: Predicting next 2022 commit after RB Jamarion Miller
Cameron Williams, OT
As one of the most physically overpowering offensive linemen that Texas is targeting for their 2022 class at this point in time, three-star Duncanville offensive tackle Cameron Williams is a prospect to watch this week. The towering 6-foot-5 and 360 pound native of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is set to announce his decision on July 1.
Given that his final official visit of the month came with the Longhorns last weekend, it feels like Sark and his staff sit in a favorable position with Williams right now. June was a busy month for visits in general for Williams, though. Theoretically, there are a lot of schools in play to land the commitment of Williams later this week.
But any mindset that Williams had all six schools that he visited that looked to be frontrunners of his this month were still in contention for his final decision is in the past. Williams announced his final three schools on Twitter on the evening of June 29. The three finalist schools for his decision included Texas, the Oklahoma Sooners, and Oregon.
He officially visited Texas on June 25, Oregon on June 4, and Oklahoma on June 18. It is good that Texas could get the last word with Williams, and we’ll see how that plays out with his final decision later this week.
Texas would be getting the nation’s No. 440 2022 high school prospect, No. 42 offensive tackle, and No. 61 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite), with a commitment from Williams. Texas has new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood as the primary recruiter after Williams.
