Texas Football: Predicting next 2022 commit after RB Jamarion Miller
Derrick Brown, EDGE
This list is mostly composed of prospects that I would say most feel good about the Longhorns getting a commitment out of at some point in the coming months. There are more immediate decisions for prospects that Texas is at least in contention for in the coming weeks that will be announcing before those like Anderson now and four-star Texas High edge rusher Derrick Brown.
Yet, Texas doesn’t find itself having much more momentum coming out of a weekend visit with any one prospect this month than the potent 6-foot-3 and 210-pound edge rusher/outside linebacker Brown. The in-state product is one of the more highly-touted at his position group that Texas has some traction with now.
Brown now has three recent expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions in that have his commitment landing with Texas over the rest of the field. This week, Brown also announced his top two finalist schools on social media. Coming off of what looked to be a hit of a weekend visit with head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears, these two schools are what Brown will boil his decision down to.
Given that Brown just narrowed his decision down to two schools, it wouldn’t surprise many if his commitment is announced in the next three or four weeks. It feels like every prospect Texas was after since the turn of the calendar year/the hire of Sark as the next head coach to replace Tom Herman, is going to announce early in July. Brown might follow suit with that trend.
