Texas Football: 3 2022 LSU decommits the Longhorns could sign
Bryce Anderson, S
Among the top safety targets at this point for the Longhorns 2022 class you can find the uber-talented and potent four-star West Brook (TX) product Bryce Anderson. The 6-foot and 190-pound Beaumont, TX, native is about the best that the Longhorns could do at the safety position at this point of the recruiting cycle.
For a good while, it appeared that Texas was the clear frontrunner ahead of the rival Aggies and Alabama Crimson Tide to land the commitment of Anderson. But Texas A&M has made a good run in the past few weeks to make it a real battle for this Lone Star Showdown on the recruiting trail. It’s hard to tell who owns the edge at the moment between Texas and Texas A&M.
Texas hosted Anderson for an official visit back on June 25. He was one of the most notable official visitors on the Forty Acres during the final weekend of the key visit month of June. New safeties coach Blake Gideon and cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph are putting the full-court press on Anderson in the midst of the summer months.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M hosted their official visit with Anderson a few weeks before Texas, on June 4.
It was back on Jan. 30, 2021, that the news of the decommitment of Anderson from LSU dropped. We could be looking at the commitment announced from Anderson at any point in the coming weeks as he makes the final decision between Texas and Texas A&M. This is a big one for Texas to seal the deal with when it’s all said and done.
