Texas Football: 3 players with stock on the rise after first fall scrimmage
D’Shawn Jamison, CB
Texas has a true leader for the defense in its ranks in the secondary with senior cornerback D’Shawn Jamison returning this fall. Jamison is one of the most underrated and versatile defensive backs in recent memory for Texas. And he will continue to be one of the most effective defensive backs/special teams weapons in the Big 12 this fall.
Jamison is going to help provide Texas with a ton of proven experience at the corners along with fellow senior Josh Thompson. Texas should be proud of the strength it boasts at the cornerback position this year.
Texas fans should have even more confidence about what Jamison will provide for them this fall with what he’s showed in fall camp thus far. By all indications, Jamison is one of the more consistent playmakers in the secondary for Texas in fall practice and from the initial fall scrimmage.
It sounds like Jamison was one of the very best performers on either side of the ball for Texas in the initial fall scrimmage. In one-on-one drills and the fall scrimmage, Jamison has multiple pass breakups, namely from Casey Thompson and Charles Wright.
Jamison will continue to be one of the top impact players on special teams for the Longhorns this fall. And he should be able to keep up the pace of being one of the best defending corners in the Big 12, that can also make plays at any time.
