After losing out on the race to land a commitment from one insanely talented five-star combo guard hailing out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Wallace, there is one more to go after. Texas does have a future star at the point guard position committed in the 2022 class in the Dallas, TX, native Morris.

Landing this other five-star guard from the DFW Metroplex on the list could mean a lot for Beard and the Longhorns in the 2022 class.

If there is one remaining uncomitted high school prospect out there that Texas needs to put its resources into in the coming weeks and months, it’s definitely the elite five-star Duncanville combo guard Anthony Black.

It looks like Texas is starting to fall behind other programs such as the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Baylor, and Gonzaga Bulldogs in the race to land a commitment from Black. But this recruitment doesn’t appear to be over yet. And this is one that Texas could very much still be in the running for if they make the right impression before the turn of the calendar year.

Texas did host Black on an official visit back in June. He’s held his Texas scholarship offer for a good while now too. Hauling in a prospect this highly-touted would be huge for the 2022 class.

Black ranks as the nation’s No. 24 2022 high school prospect, No. 5 combo guard, and No. 3 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 18 high school prospect, No. 4 combo guard, and No. 2 prospect out of Texas.
