There is a ton of talent and depth on this Longhorns roster this season for Beard to continue to work with throughout the non-conference slate. The Gonzaga game proved that Texas still has a ways to go in terms of coming together and figuring out the right way to use this rotation with so many talented and proven players.

I’ve already mentioned the fact that I think this Northern Colorado game could be a really good one for both Jones and Askew. But another player to watch that could have a coming-out party against Northern Colorado is the senior sharpshooting guard/wing Jase Febres. Beard doesn’t traditionally have a lot of wings to work with in his rotations like Febres.

And Febres is off to an excellent start in terms of shooting beyond the arc through two games this season. He’s shot north of 57 percent from beyond the arc thus far. He could make it rain from deep again on this night.

We should also be watching out for the likes of junior transfer center Tre Mitchell and Tyson to develop floor-spacing for the Longhorns. Mitchell had a down game against the Zags but was really good in the Longhorns season-opening win back on Nov. 9 against the Houston Baptist Huskies.

Next. 3 players that still have a lot to prove after the loss to Gonzaga. dark

Texas ranks 10th in the country in terms of three-point shooting percentage, at 47.8 on the season so far. Beard’s teams tend to have excellent ball movement and floor spacing and this one appears to be no exception. Texas should be able to really keep Northern Colorado on their heels in this game, especially if they can get some inside scoring going early on.
