Too many versatile offensive threats for San Jose State to defend

Texas has a multitude of offensive threats that Beard and his staff can turn to beat San Jose Spartans on Nov. 20. And it’s not just one unit, position group, or type of scorer that the Longhorns bring to the table in this talented and deep rotation this season.

After a pretty inconsistent outing in the win over Northern Colorado earlier in the week, this feels like a spot where Jones can really thrive on the wing. Jones was very impressive for the Longhorns in the first two games of the season but slowed down against the Bears earlier this week.

Jones went just 1-of-8 shooting from the field and 0-of-3 from beyond the arc in the win over Northern Colorado. But it only feels like a matter of time before Jones finds his groove again. The good news here is the fact that Jones has remained a stout on and off-ball defender through every game this season, regardless of his inconsistent play on offense.

This game is also one where the experienced and proven guard duo of Carr and Ramey can really stand out. Ramey had a solid outing in the win over Northern Colorado, but Carr still has some room to improve.

Ramey registered eight points, six rebounds, two assists, and an impressive three steals in the win over Northern Colorado. If he gets a lot of open looks in this meeting with San Jose State, Ramey should be able to have another solid night in the Abe Lemons Classic.
