NC State

One of the younger teams at the linebacker position in the ACC is the NC State Wolfpack. That’s what makes it pretty incredible that the NC State defense had a pretty solid season so far. NC State currently ranks18th in the FBS, allowing just 19.7 points per game. They are also one of the top teams in the ACC in terms of yards allowed per game, at just 331.8.

There is still likely the wanting to improve at the linebacker position, and maybe gain more experience in the process, for head coach Dave Doeren and the Wolfpack next offseason. NC State has three true freshmen and two true sophomores in the regular linebacker rotation at this point of the season.

Adding a bit more experience and depth at the position could be a good move for the Wolfpack. And Adeoye has a connection with one of the key assistants on NC State’s coaching staff. Former Texas offensive coordinator Tim Beck was one of Adeoye’s top recruiters when he committed to the Longhorns a few years back. And Beck is now the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on staff under Doeren in Raleigh.

NC State likes those versatile linebackers that are a bit stockier since they play in a 3-3-5 defensive scheme. The 6-foot-1 and 250-pound Adeoye is good at setting the edge and can drop back into pass coverage when necessary to cover tight ends and/or running backs.

There are connections for Adeoye to the Wolfpack, and he’d have a shot to make an immediate impact there. NC State also looks to be a team set up for success, as long as Doeren is their head coach, for at least the next couple of seasons.
