Quinn Ewers can take Steve Sarkisian’s offense to a new level

Any relationship and contact that Sark and the Longhorns tried to establish with Ewers now very much come back into the picture entering next offseason. Texas had contact with Ewers, even when he was committed to Ohio State, throughout much of last offseason. That could really come in handy if Texas tries to make their pitch to Ewers in the near future.

One major factor that should really appeal to Ewers about the Longhorns is the fact that the ceiling is a lot higher for this offense under Sark than it was under former Texas head coach Tom Herman and offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. Sark is one of the best offensive minds in college football, and Ewers very likely knows that all too well.

Ewers is an insanely talented quarterback that has all the physical tools necessary to make him a star right away. He’s got a big arm and can hit throws at every level. Texas missed someone that could throw a tight ball on the intermediate routes to make the best use of Worthy and redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jordan Whittington.

The threat of Ewers’ arm in this offensive scheme should also really open up the field for star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson, junior Roschon Johnson, redshirt sophomore Keilan Robinson, etc.

And if Texas is still having some offensive line struggles next year, Ewers is an excellent quarterback throwing on the run. That is a strength in the game of some of the other Texas quarterbacks on the current roster but definitely plays well into Ewers’ skill set.
