There weren’t many more disappointing offensive performances for the Longhorns in the loss to Baylor on Feb. 28 than what we saw from senior guard Courtney Ramey. In the loss to Baylor, Ramey registered just six points on 2-of-10 shooting from the field while missing both of his attempts from beyond the arc.

The former blue-chip recruit is struggling oftentimes on the offensive end of the floor in the latter stages of the Big 12 slate. And that doesn’t bode well for what could be to come from him in the postseason.

In fact, Ramey has not scored in the double figures in each of the last eight games. The last time that Ramey did hit double-digit points came back on Feb. 1 in a loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. And he still shot well under 50 percent from the field in that Feb. 1 outing where he put up a dozen points.

The problem with Ramey’s lack of offensive production is the fact that he’s still getting starter-level minutes. Ramey got at least 34 minutes on the floor in each of the last four games. He also really hasn’t played in fewer than two-dozen minutes in every single Big 12 game this season.

If Texas is going to have Ramey playing heavy minutes as he has all throughout the Big 12 slate, it’s obvious they’ll need his production to pick up a lot during the postseason.
