Anthony Hill, LB

It’s hard to find another target of the Longhorns 2023 class that is being prioritized as much at this point of the offseason as the elite five-star Denton-Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill. With Hill boiling down his top group of schools to just Texas and Texas A&M last week, this recruitment has really heated up heading into the dead period.

For much of the offseason to date, Texas A&M looked to have an edge for Hill. But the June 24 official visit that Hill took to Austin clearly made an impact on him and his camp. That along with the commitment of Arch, among all the other blue-chips that joined the Longhorns 2023 class in recent weeks, could’ve put Texas in the lead as of early July.

Hill is such an important target of the Longhorns 2023 class, that people from Manning’s camp have reached out to him in the last few weeks for discussions over the phone. When that information is made publicly available, that means Hill is a very important recruit for this Longhorns class.

All eyes in terms of Hill’s recruitment later this month will be on his official visit to College Station with Texas A&M on the weekend of July 28. If Texas can manage to keep momentum on their side through the conclusion of Hill’s official visit to Texas A&M that weekend, then things will be shaping up very nicely ahead of a potential August decision from the top-ranked linebacker recruit in the nation.
