Texas Football: Assessing 5 biggest spring game visitors for Longhorns
Daniel Calhoun, OT
There might not be a more loaded position group visiting Texas this weekend for the spring game than offensive tackle. Texas is set to host two of the top-five ranked offensive tackle recruits in the nation in the 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite on April 15.
One of the two highly touted offensive tackle recruits in the 2024 class that will be making the unofficial trip to Austin for the spring game this weekend is the four-star Marietta (GA) Walton product Daniel Calhoun. The enormous 6-foot-7 and 355-pound Georgia offensive tackle will be taking a trip to the 40 for the second time this weekend.
Calhoun has all the major SEC players on the recruiting trail prioritizing him this offseason. The Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, etc. have all prioritized Calhoun in the 2024 class.
But Texas got a couple of major wins on the recruiting trail when offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and this staff were able to get Calhoun on the visitor list for the spring game and locked in for an official visit this summer.
Calhoun will make the official trip to Austin on the weekend of June 24. That late June weekend is starting to turn into what could be the most pivotal recruiting weekend of the offseason for Sark and the Longhorns staff.
