Brandon Baker, OT

The other insanely highly touted offensive tackle recruit in the 2024 class that Flood and the Longhorns are hosting for an unofficial trip this weekend for the spring game is the elite five-star Mater Dei (CA) product Brandon Baker. The offensive tackle recruit that is ranked at the top of the position in the 2024 class in the nation by On3 and 247Sports will be making his first unofficial trip to the Forty Acres for the spring game on April 15.

This visit to the 40 for Baker comes in the midst of a very busy spring trip schedule for the No. 1 ranked offensive tackle in the 2024 class. He’s also seen the USC Trojans, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, and the Miami Hurricanes, among a few other schools in-person this spring.

He’s also got visits on the books for later in the spring with top players in this recruitment such as the Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, and Nebraska Cornhuskers

Flood and the Longhorns are probably going to play a patient game in this recruitment. There are a lot of big-time Power Five programs that are currently in the running among the top schools for Baker. He literally has big-time Power Five schools coast-to-coast vying for his attention this offseason, including USC, Florida State, Ohio State, and Michigan, among many others.

If Texas was looking for an opportunity to make a sizable move in this recruitment to begin locking in on an official visit date for the summer or fall with Baker, this weekend will be the time to do it.
