Bijan Robinson, RB

It’s almost guaranteed that the first Longhorn off the board later this week will be junior All-American Texas running back Bijan Robinson. The running back that is widely considered to be the top player at his position in this draft class is projected by most to be a mid-to-late first-round pick on April 27.

Some even consider Bijan the top overall prospect in this draft class. NFL.com lists him as the third-highest-graded overall prospect in this draft, behind Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. and Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Bijan as the sixth-best player in this draft class, further proving just how good of a prospect he is.

A lot of this conversation in terms of where Bijan will be drafted on Thursday comes down to how much teams are valuing the running back position this year. If teams are willing to spend a first-round pick on one of the best running back talents of the last half-decade at least, then Bijan is probably going to be off the board before the teens are concluded picking.

But I don’t know how many teams are willing to take the risk of looking over other positions of need to get a running back early on or in the middle of the first round.

For the time being, I’m going to take a more conservative approach to where I think Bijan will be drafted in the first round. The Dallas Cowboys at No. 26 are commonly considered a potential landing spot for Bijan. And there’s even some discussion that he could go No. 10 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Projection: 1st round (21st overall) to the Los Angeles Chargers
