Wichita State moving to the American Conference and Lee Corso talking about Texas potentially leaving the Big 12 has opened a can of worms on future conference affiliation for Texas Sports.

Things seemed to settle last year after the Big 12 voted not to expand. But, you know this upcoming offseason will feature ample speculation and rumor about conference realignment.

The biggest player is Texas. UT has its own network, brings in the most annual revenue of any college sports program, and is located in the center of the second most populated state in the country.

If Texas were to leave the Big 12, it would cause wholesale changes to the conference landscape.

This brings up a two-part question for Texas when considering the available options.

(1) Is Texas’ value declining in the Big 12 after the conference decided not to add two more quality schools?

(2) If the value is declining, can they find better value in another conference?

We will look into the available options for Texas on the eve of more conference realignment talk this summer.
