Texas football had a few days of practice for the media and fans to get updates about how the team is looking and injury updates for key players on each side of the ball before the College Football Playoff national semifinal later this week.
Two starters could return for Texas football vs. Ohio State from injuries in the Playoff semifinals at the Cotton Bowl
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns take on the Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day in the College Football Playoff semis at the Cotton Bowl on Friday (Jan. 10). Texas will get a couple of days of pre-Cotton Bowl game practice at Jerry World in Arlington before gameday on Friday evening.
Texas has been mostly healthy on each side of the ball coming out of the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff at the Peach Bowl in the double overtime win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Longhorns were without one key starter along the offensive line and a starting wide receiver was on a pitch count.
But the Longhorns had another 10 days since the thrilling double-OT Playoff victory in Atlanta over Arizona State on New Year's Day to rest up and get healthier. It was also important for the starters on each side of the ball for Texas who played heavy snaps in a game that went beyond four quarters in the third game since the beginning of the month of December.
Here are two key injury updates for the Longhorns going into the Playoff national semifinal game at the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10 against Ohio State.
