Texas returns two wide receivers who started at least one game this past season, including to-be sophomore Ryan Wingo and redshirt sophomore DeAndre Moore Jr. The Longhorns lost multiple junior starting receivers to the NFL Draft this spring, Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond.

Sarkisian, Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns have looked to the portal for immediate help at the wide receiver position for the past few offseasons. Texas's top two receivers this past season, Golden and Bond, were immediate-impact transfer additions from last offseason.

What the Longhorns are looking for from a portal wideout is one immediate-impact transfer wide receiver with multiple years of proven experience and who fits Sarkisian's system on offense.

One possible option Texas could pursue late in the winter portal window who could be a viable outside receiver on the two-deep for the 2025 season for the Longhorns is former Notre Dame redshirt junior transfer Jayden Thomas.

Thomas has been a consistent contributor to Notre Dame's receiving corps over the past few seasons. Since 2022, he's registered 64 catches for 838 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches.

The 6-foot-2 and 218-pound to-be fifth-year wideout took over 80 percent of his snaps out wide for the Irish this past season.

Thomas has visits scheduled to see the Auburn Tigers and UCLA Bruins late this week (per 247Sports).

Sarkisian recruited Thomas as a three-star prospect from Georgia in the 2021 class when he was the offensive coordinator at Alabama.
