Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are shopping the NCAA Transfer Portal for the winter window to upgrade the roster at positions of need based on the current roster evaluations for the two-deep.

Portal visits getting underway for Texas football on each side of the ball late this week

Since the signing period for high school recruiting in the 2025 cycle this year was earlier in the month of December than it was in past classes, the Longhorns have a different transfer portal focal point. Texas has seen multiple players enter the transfer portal this week after Sarkisian and staff met with all players on the team to discuss depth chart roles heading into the future for the 2025 season.

Texas has already lost eight players who have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal for the winter window, including four defensive tackles and two linebackers from the defensive side of the ball. At least six of the eight Longhorns players who have announced intentions to transfer have already entered the portal.

There is always the chance that a handful of players decide to stick with the Longhorns after announcing their intentions.

Texas has plenty of needs to attack in the transfer portal, and the staff has been diligent to find the right players to fit the depth chart needs on the two-deep for this portal cycle in December.

Here are two Purdue transfers the Longhorns will host for visits to Austin in the next couple of days this week/weekend.
