Led by four players scoring in double figures, Texas basketball (5-1, 0-0 SEC) won the UKG Legends Classic with a 67-58 win on Nov. 22 over the Saint Joseph's Hawks (4-2, 0-0 A-10) in the final game in Brooklyn. Texas had to fight through a couple of tough outings at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this week to claim the Legends Classic championship.

Texas basketball slides past Saint Joseph's to win the Legends Classic

The Syracuse Orange gave head coach Rodney Terry and the Longhorns all they could handle in the opening round of the Legends Classic on Nov. 21. Texas staved off a furious second-half rally from Syracuse to win the opening round of the Legends Classic, 70-66.

Texas got another tough contest against Saint Joseph's in the final of the Legends Classic on Nov. 22. It wasn't until late in the second half when the Longhorns and freshman guard Tre Johnson were able to officially put away Saint Joseph's. Johnson scored a team-high 17 points in the nine-point victory to give Texas its second Quad 1/2 victory of the regular season.

Here are two studs and one dud following the Longhorns' 67-58 win over Saint Joseph's in the final of the Legends Classic on Nov. 22.

Stud: Kadin Shedrick, C

Senior big man Kadin Shedrick came up with multiple big plays late in the game to help the Longhorns put away Saint Joseph's late in the second half. When the Longhorns were up by a couple of possessions with under two minutes remaining in the game, Shedrick scored the two-point dunk that basically salted the victory away for Texas.

Shedrick scored six of his 10 points in the second half, including a key basket in the middle of the final frame that put the Longhorns back ahead in the lead at a critical juncture of the game.

While the Longhorns were defeated in the battle on the boards in this game, Shedrick did give Texas an important boost on the glass in the second half. Five of Shedrick's six boards in the win over Saint Joseph's came in the game's final 20 minutes, including two offensive rebounds.

A pleasant surprise from Shedrick this season has been his rim protection inside for Texas's paint defense. Shedrick added two more blocks on top of a career-high 2.2 blocks per game average early this season. Texas turned Saint Joseph's away with seven blocks in this game. Shedrick and senior forward Arthur Kaluma combined for five of Texas's seven blocks against Saint Joseph's.
