2 studs, 1 dud from Texas's Legends Classic win v. Saint Joseph's
Stud: Julian Larry, G
Between the 89-43 win over the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils and tonight's triumph over Saint Joseph's, Larry has played his two best games in a Texas uniform in the past three outings.
For the third time in the last four games, Larry scored in double figures tonight, with a dozen points off the bench (3-of-4 shooting from the field, 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line). Larry was spotless shooting from beyond the arc and from the charity stripe.
He also made a big impact on other areas of the game for the Longhorns, including with his efficient distribution of the basketball as the offense's primary facilitator, defending the perimeter, and running up-tempo in transition for easier baskets down the stretch.
He was effective distributing the basketball, racking up two assists and one turnover. He also hauled in two rebounds and registered one steal on the defensive end.
Larry was the tone-setter for the Longhorns in the second half of this game. All 12 of his points were scored in the second half, also including two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
The role Terry and the Longhorns need Larry to play as a proven floor general coming off the bench has been executed to near-perfection in the last few contests by the former Indiana State grad transfer.
