Another big-time offensive scorer for the Longhorns who got off to a good start on that end of the floor in this game for the starting backcourt was junior guard Jordan Pope. He followed up a career offensive performance with 40+ points in Texas's last game 10 days ago with an eight-point first half on 50 percent shooting from the field.

After scoring a career-high 42 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the field and 8-of-12 from beyond the arc in Texas's dominant 98-62 victory over New Orleans at the Moody Center before the Christmas holiday break on Dec. 19, Pope struggled to stay hot offensively for an entire 40 minutes against the Demons today.

Pope still finished up scoring in double figures today, but he only had three second-half points on an inefficient 1-of-5 shooting from the field and 1-of-4 from three-point range.

Despite getting some open shots and having the opportunity on multiple offensive possessions through both halves of this game to drive to the rim and get to the line through contact in the paint, Pope didn't have any free-throw attempts against Northwestern State.

As a result, Pope finished up with just 11 points on 11 field-goal attempts.

Pope didn't make much of an impact on the box score stats in this game outside of scoring in double figures. He had one assist, one turnover, and zero rebounds to go along with his 11 points against Northwestern State.
