Quarterback

North Texas will need to replace a pretty good quarterback. Derek Thompson passed for nearly 2,900 yards last season, and led the Mean Green in total offense with 3,095 yards. He finished third in Conference USA in passing efficiency, and fourth in passing yards per game.

These are some big shoes to fill.

Andrew McNulty and Josh Greer are expected to battle it out to replace Thompson. McNulty, a junior, saw limited action last year and threw just six passes. Greer is a transfer from Navarro Junior College. He has the most game experience, throwing for 1,200 yards in in six games. A dark horse candidate is former Pflugerville Connally star Dajon Williams. Williams was a redshirt last year, but has good size and is a duel-threat option. North Texas may be in worse shape at quarterback than Texas.
