Wide Receiver

Aside from Pierson, there isn’t much to get excited about at wide receiver. Tight end Jimmay Mundine was the team’s second-leading receiver in 2013. Kansas does have some height with Justin McCray and Rodriguez Coleman. Both stand 6-foot-2 or taller. The duo combined for 50 catches last year, two more than Pierson.

The dark horse is Miami-OH transfer Nick Harwell. Harwell had 68 catches for 870 yards in 2012. He could quickly become Cozart’s security blanket. Still, Kansas has had one of the country’s worse passing game the last two seasons. In other words, don’t expect miracles.

With a questionable passing game, this could be one of those games where the younger players on the Texas defense see significant time.
