Defensive Line

Statistically speaking, Kansas had one of the worst defensive lines last year. The Jayhawks ranked near the bottom of college football in run defense. Malcolm Brown rushed for 119 yards last year against this group as Texas rumbled for 221 in the game.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Kansas must replace four of its five top lineman this year. Like North Texas, Kansas doesn’t have a 300-pound lineman that is expected to see the field. Several JUCO players will try to fill the void. Texas should serve this defensive line a steady dose of Brown and Johnathan Gray. Don’t be surprised to see some of the freshmen backs get playing time in this one.
