2014 Texas Football Schedule Preview: Baylor Bears

The Baylor Bears are for real. The offense boasts a Heisman trophy candidate at quarterback, and an arsenal of talented running backs. Head coach Art Briles has slowly built a quality program in Waco.

Baylor ended Texas’ hopes for a Big 12 championship on the last day of the 2013 regular season with a 30-10 win. The Longhorns hung with the Bears for a half before Baylor’s offense finally got untracked and put the game away. Baylor won 11 games in 2013 and played in its first (and last) BCS bowl game.

If there is an Achilles heel for this team, it is the defense. This could be the unit that continues to hold the program back from becoming a football powerhouse.
