Oct 12, 2013; Manhattan, KS, USA; Kansas State Wildcats running back John Hubert (33) looks for room to run against Baylor Bears safety Terrell Burt (13) during the Wildcats

Secondary

The corner position is in flux. Demetri Goodson has moved on, along with several players expected to provide experience at the position. Instead, Baylor will roll with youth and athleticism, starting with Terrence Singleton and Xavien Howard. Both played in all 13 games in 2013, but neither has started a game at Baylor. That will change this season.

Fortunately Baylor has some stability at safety. Terrell Burt has started every game the last two seasons. He takes over for Ahmad Dixon as the leader of the secondary. Orion Stewart is pegged to replace Dixon at strong safety. Texas should be able to throw on this defense. David Ash won’t out duel Petty, but he has the arm strength to test this secondary deep.

Texas will be hard-pressed to match Baylor yard-for-yard in this game. The Longhorns’ best bet is to try and grind out a win. The defense won’t have 20-something degree weather to help it slow down this Baylor offense. It will take a complete team effort, something we haven’t seen in these parts in a few years.
