Another name that’s been thrown out, though hasn’t drawn nearly as much attention, is Larry Krystkowiak.

The 50 year-old head coach the Utah Utes spent 12 seasons playing in the NBA. After his playing career was over, he was named head coach at the University of Montana, where he led the Grizzlies to two NCAA appearances in to seasons.

He briefly made the step up to the NBA where he coached for the Milwaukee Bucks, though without much success, before returning to the college ranks.

He has been with the Utes for four seasons, taking them to this year’s Sweet Sixteen.

Again, Krystkowiak is considered a bit of a long-shot, but Patterson, who also has an NBA background, will probably appreciate his professional experience.
