Given Patterson’s NBA background, no one would be surprised if he chose to go with an NBA coach, either a former or current one.
Though no specific names have been thrown out, the Austin-American Statesman reported earlier this week that they’re hearing Patterson could indeed go that route.
The concerns with an NBA hire would be whether or not a coach with little or no collegiate experience, at least not recently, would be able to make the switch to the college game, particularly when it comes to recruiting.
