Johnson’s career trajectory took a nose dive following an impressive freshman campaign. Injuries and suspensions the last two seasons have plagued one of the team’s fastest weapons on offense. Johnson saw limited action in 2014 after spending a majority of the season in Charlie Strong’s doghouse.
When he is on the field, Johnson is a threat to go the distance on every play. He is type of explosive playmaker the offense has been missing. That’s what makes his off-field transgressions so frustrating to fans.
Word is that Johnson has righted the ship and is minding his P’s and Q’s. It might be too late for him to be the type of impact player he was developing into early in his career, but he can still affect the outcome of a game with his speed.
