Johnson’s 2013 breakout campaign didn’t translate into a successful 2014 season. The emergence of John Harris relegated Johnson to the number three receiving threat behind Jaxon Shipley. Inconsistent quarterback play didn’t help either.

Now Johnson is the veteran receiver with Harris and Shipley graduated. He still needs to work hard to fend off Foreman, Burt and Lorenzo Joe. Tyrone Swoopes and Heard need a reliable target that can shake Big 12 defenders. The younger guys are still learning the nuisances of playing the position, meaning Johnson could breakout like Harris did.
