Loaded List Of Prospects Expected For Under The Lights

In 2014, the Texas coaching staff held a camp on campus called Under The Lights. It brought out a great nucleus of talent from within the state so that they could get a chance to work with them up close and personal. While a good amount talent, including recruits who ended up signing with Texas were in attendance last year, this year’s expected list looks far more impressive.

Players not only within the state of Texas will be making their way to Austin this coming weekend, so the fact that Charlie Strong and his staff have been able to get several key targets to head back to campus one more time before training camp kicks off is a pretty good sign. On top of that this gives the coaches valuable face time with recruits and also allows them to personally work them out so that they can confirm evaluations they have made over the past year.

That is an absolutely LOADED list of prospects, and even if some of those listed as maybe can’t make it in, you still have yourself quite a list of recruits that will be on campus. Getting guys who have committed elsewhere such as Eric Monroe, Erick Fowler, Jamal Pettigrew, and Dee Anderson on campus is definitely a step in the right direction, and it gives the coaches a chance to make up ground heading into the season.

On top of having several big time 2016 recruits on campus, you also have some of the bluest of blue chippers for the 2017 class heading to town, and that allows you to evaluate and to continue to build relationships that have already been established early in the game.

Personally, I am very anxious to see who all arrives in Austin come Saturday, and ready to see how they perform with the eyes of Texas upon them. Under The Lights is certain not to disappoint this year.
