5 Longhorns Who Must Use 2015 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team List as Motivation

Kent Perkins, OG
As a true sophomore Perkins split time between right tackle and guard. He has the perfect build to be a road grading guard – 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds. 2014 was on-the-job training for Perkins. He should benefit from the experience. The offensive game plan hinges on the offensive line improving.
Perkins came to Texas as the No. 6 rated offensive tackle in the nation by ESPN – No. 4 by MaxPreps. He seems to have settled in at guard, but can slide back to tackle if Joe Wickline needs him. Hopefully Wickline can shore up the tackle spot and leave Perkins entrenched at guard where he can do damage while teamed up with center Taylor Doyle. If Texas plans on running the ball between the tackles, these two must open up running lanes.
Perkins is a very talented athlete. If he doesn’t supplant someone like Joey Hunt (TCU) on the final all-Big 12 list, he should definitely see his name on it next fall.
