How does your best offensive weapon only get eight touches? That is the question everyone has been asking all week. That will change today.
Gray will get plenty of work. He needs to touch the ball 20-25 times today. Texas must run the ball successfully in order to take pressure off the passing game. Rice will dare Swoopes and Heard to beat them through the air. A good running attack will open up the play action pass and keep the Owl defense guessing what Texas will do.
Most importantly, Gray is one of the leaders of this team. He can’t lead if he is standing on the sidelines. Norvell would be wise to draw up some creative ways to get the ball into Gray’s hands. Today is the day where I see the offense having more rushes than passes, with Gray leading the attack.
