Derek Kindred, safety
Can you believe Kindred is the only defender currently playing who was a starter in TCU’s bowl game last season? Injuries and graduation have decimated this Horned Frog defense.
With so many new faces lining up in front of him, Kindred will be counted on to anchor a talented secondary. He has 25 tackles in TCU’s first four games.
Kindred will have his hands full supporting the run and keeping an eye on the likes of Marcus Johnson, John Burt and Armanti Foreman. Texas has the athletes to stretch the field and TCU will lean on Kindred’s experience to make plays. It’s worth noting he plays on a defense that gave up 52 points to Texas Tech and came within a few yards of being upset by the Red Raiders.
