Josh Doctson, wide receiver

Doctson has positioned himself as one the Big 12’s best receivers this year. The senior already has 35 catches in four games. He had 65 in 13 games last year. He lit up the Red Raider defense for 18 grabs, 267 yards and three scores.

He could replicate these numbers against Texas if the defense doesn’t have an answer. Longhorn fans are hoping Holton Hill is up to the challenge. Hill played well last week and the general feeling around town is that he should start this weekend and line up against Doctson. Bedford could very well counter with his most experienced corner – Duke Thomas – but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hill take on this responsibility.

Texas won’t be able to stop Doctson. The game plan should be to minimize his impact on the game as much as possible. Sticking a freshmen corner on Doctson is a scary thought, but it might be Texas’ best option.
