Texas football kicks off their season in just 10 days. What better way to celebrate than by counting down the 10 Longhorns who will help turn this program around in 2016?

It’s no secret that there is a tremendous amount of pressure on the Texas program this season. Back-to-back losing seasons have Charlie Strong answering questions about his job security as he enters year three. The Longhorns finished outside the preseason Top 25 for the third straight year, something that hasn’t happened since the Berlin Wall was coming down.

There is tremendous potential on this Texas roster with Strong bringing in some of the country’s top recruiting classes the last two seasons. But potential hasn’t equaled wins so far as Strong currently sits with a 11-14 record like a big, ugly, neon sign hanging around his neck. The time for results is now.

Luckily for Strong and Longhorn fans, this team has the players to get those results. This coaching staff has put together one of the most talented Texas rosters in years and have plans to put them in positions to succeed in 2016. They’ve built depth on defense, found potential playmakers on offense, and maybe, just maybe, finally have a quarterback who can lead the way. Put it all together and you have one of the more intriguing Longhorn seasons in recent memory.

We will find out for sure just what this Texas team can do on September 4 when Notre Dame comes to town. But for now, we have 10 more days to speculate and prognosticate, so without further ado: The 10 Longhorns who will turn this program around in 2016!
