What’s that – two bonus teams? Yes, there are so many teams that qualify for this category that we added two more to the list!

(6) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Texas has not played the Yellow Jackets since 1942 during World War II. And, they have only met one time.

Their only meeting was in the 1943 Cotton Bowl to end the 1942 college football season. #11 Texas beat #5 Ga. Tech by the score of 14-7.

Interestingly, the Yellow Jackets tie in with the other team on the bonus list…

(7) Northwestern Wildcats. Texas has also not played Northwestern since the 1942 season. And that was their only meeting ever.

Texas lost 3-0 at Northwestern at the beginning of that season. Three months later, Texas beat Ga. Tech in the Cotton Bowl in their only meeting to date.

So, the interesting history linking Georgia Tech and Northwestern means it’s time for Texas to schedule these ACC and Big 10 teams after not playing them since World War II.
