Texas Football coach Tom Herman sat down with the media on Monday afternoon to discuss the state of Texas Football heading into spring practice.

The central theme is Coach Herman does not have answers on whether this year’s Longhorns squad is ready to play football. He said it’s too early in the evaluation process since he’s just seen the players run around cones in shorts and t-shirts.

Herman also said he has not watched tape on anyone from last season, so he does not know who is good and who is not. Coach is approaching this group of players with a completely fresh set of eyes to make determinations about who should start and whether the team is ready to play football in 2017.

One thing that is clear is Coach Herman is concerned about the defensive line. That, plus other items make up our Five Big Takeaways from Tom Herman’s press conference on Monday.
