Takeaway #3 – Returning Stars Need To Add To Their Games

Chris Warren and Malik Jefferson are returning star players who need to add something to their game, according to Coach Herman.

Herman relayed a conversation with RB Warren about being more physical. Herman said he told Warren that he will make a lot of money playing RB one day – if he learns how to lower his pads and run through someone.

Herman said he wants to see Warren prove his toughness and durability during the spring to solidify his role as leading RB for this year’s team.

As for Malik Jefferson, Coach Herman said he sees a player who has potential to be special, but he needs to be more vocal on the field.

Herman said the coaching staff told Jefferson to stop trying to be liked by his teammates and start leading them by being more demanding. Herman said he hopes to see more of that in the spring.
