Texas Women’s Basketball had one goal this season – take the next step to the Final Four.

Unfortunately, the Longhorns will not be part of the Final Four in Dallas. And, the Horns will not get the opportunity to settle the score with Baylor after they split two regular season meetings.

The Longhorns lost to Stanford in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament, falling short of last year’s benchmark of the Elite 8.

  • 2014: Second Round
  • 2015: Sweet 16
  • 2016: Elite 8
  • 2017: Sweet 16

Karen Aston’s team was looking to get back to the Final Four for the first time in 15 years. They’ll have to wait another season to make the 2018 Final Four in Columbus, Ohio.

So, how do the Horns finally break through? Scroll through our list for five key ways Texas has to grow to become an elite basketball team.
