For the first time in the Karen Aston Era, Texas beat Baylor. It was a huge road win in Waco and continued Texas’ amazing 19-game winning streak.

But, the Horns turned around in Austin two weeks later and lost a winnable game in the second half, just like against Stanford. That loss gave Baylor the upper hand in the Big 12 conference race.

For Texas to take the next step, they need to beat the Bears at home. It’s part of developing that edge or toughness to defend home court against the elite teams in women’s college basketball.

Texas started their 19-game streak by beating Tennessee at home in December. But, they lost at home to Baylor and then lost on Senior Night against Iowa State.  That cannot happen.

For Texas to reach the Final Four, they have to develop a dominant mindset. That means beating Baylor in Austin and not letting other Big 12 teams challenge them at home.
