Texas Longhorns NFL prospect D’Onta Foreman is seeking redemption at the Texas Pro Day on Tuesday.

D’Onta Foreman was unable to perform at the NFL Combine due to a stress fracture in his left foot, which temporarily hurt his NFL Draft stock.

But, Foreman says he is ready to prove himself to NFL scouts after recovering from the injury. He especially wants to show off his improved body after losing 16 pounds training at EXOS Gym in Florida, which he documented in an article for Men’s Health.

"“That was tough to swallow. I was ready to compete. I felt strong. I felt fast. I was disappointed, but I returned to EXOS and got back to the grind right where I had left off. I trained there until a few days ago when I returned to Austin ahead of my pro day on Tuesday.” – D’Onta Foreman on NFL Combine disappointment at MensHealth.com"

Foreman said his 40-yard dash goal is a 4.40. He is also “excited to show how trimming down to a lighter 230-pounds and leaner muscle mass” made him even faster and agile than when he played at Texas.

D’Onta Foreman Even Better Than at Texas?

D’Onta Foreman rushed for over 2,000 yards, won the Doak Walker Award for best RB in all of college football, and set himself up for the NFL Draft after his junior season.

But, according to Foreman, he could have played better if he took better care of his body.

"“I could outrun most guys in college. I was fast and at 246 pounds, I was tough to bring down. … I was fast, but I could be faster. I wanted to take things up a notch and to become the best version of myself. … I was 246 pounds when I arrived to EXOS. At 6’0” tall, that was a lot of weight to carry with me. A lot of weight that as fast as I felt in college, actually slowed me down. In about two months, I had cut 13 pounds and built muscle mass. I felt leaner, I was able to move faster, and it showed.” – D’Onta Foreman on his diet change at MensHealth.com"

Foreman already has a private workout with the New York Giants lined up. But, Tuesday’s Texas Football Pro Day is about impressing the other 31 NFL teams.

The award-winning Texas RB slid in recent RB rankings after not working out at the NFL Combine. We expect all of that to change on Tuesday once Foreman gets a chance to show off changes to his body.

Foreman will also look pretty sweet wearing this special Pro Day gear supplied by Nike that Texas Football coach Tom Herman tweeted out Monday.

Texas Pro Day Details

The Texas Football Pro Day is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning. D’Onta Foreman and returning former Texas QB David Ash headline the event.

Also scheduled to work out for NFL scouts are Texas seniors like Paul Boyette, Jr. who are trying to get drafted in April. Or, at least be picked up by NFL teams as undrafted rookies.
