Western Conference Playoffs – Texas Basketball

(1) Golden State Warriors vs. (8) Portland Trail Blazers

  • Kevin Durant (GSW)

(4) Los Angeles Clippers vs. (5) Utah Jazz

  • No Longhorns

(3) Houston Rockets vs. (6) Oklahoma City Thunder

(2) San Antonio Spurs vs. (7) Memphis Grizzlies

  • LaMarcus Aldridge (SAS)

The Western Conference Playoffs features two Texas NBA teams: the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. That could be an epic second round matchup to find out who faces Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors.

The interesting thing about Durant and Aldridge is they just missed playing with each other at Texas. And, they were #2 overall Draft Picks in back-to-back years.

Aldridge left college for the NBA in 2006, then Durant joined the Longhorns for one season and entered the NBA in 2007. Imagine what the combo of freshman Durant and junior Aldridge could have done for Texas Basketball? We’ll never know.
