(1) Texas Spring Game Star: Shane Buechele

Shane Buechele played like a guy who believes he should be the Texas Football starting QB.

Buechele was poised, confident, and throwing darts during the Texas Spring Game. He did throw one interception against Todd Orlando’s tough defense, but for the most part Buechele was in control of the game.

Buechele finished with nearly 400 yards passing and three TDs (two passing and one rushing).

But, Texas head coach Tom Herman was not ready to name Buechele the starter after the Spring Game. Herman wants to continue motivating through “healthy fear” all the way through the summer to make sure Buechele wins the job.

Herman said Buechele did exactly what the coaches expected. That was to play well with the 1s against the 2s with the defense not allowed to make contact.

Herman wants to see more, but Shane Buechele appears to be the Texas QB. He was certainly the top star of the Spring Game.
