(5) Move to ACC

Over the years, there have been unfounded rumors of ACC schools looking at the Big 12. But, what if Texas went East to the ACC?

You’re looking at another pod-like system, but the closest ACC school to Texas is Florida State, which is an entire day’s worth of driving down I-10 to Tallahassee.

The intrigue is Texas has never played the likes of Clemson and Florida State in football. And, they have not played other ACC schools in a very long time.

The Longhorns do not have much history with ACC schools, especially compared to the other big conferences. That could either be a strength of newness or weakness of lack of familiarity.

It seems unlikely Texas would head East for geographical purposes. But, it sure would be interesting to see Texas Basketball play at Cameron Indoor or finally see FSU come to Austin for a football game.
