Time is counting down to the 2018 NBA Draft, starting on June 21, to see where Texas basketball center Mohamed Bamba winds up.

Texas basketball could end up sending a bevy of talent into the 2018 NBA Draft when it’s all said and done come the actual event near the end of June. It’s one of the biggest events of both the NBA and college basketball off-seasons. And, a headlining name for the first round of the NBA Draft should be the former Texas Longhorns’ standout center Mohamed Bamba.

The need seems to always be there for a big man in the NBA like a Mo Bamba or DeAndre Ayton of the Arizona Wildcats. Both Bamba and Ayton should be taken off the board early among the lottery picks in the first round. Texas has also become accustomed to sending big time bigs to the early selections of the first round of the NBA Draft altogether.

Last year, the Longhorns had Jarrett Allen selected by the Brooklyn Nets early on in the first round. Even before Allen, Texas had center/forward Myles Turner picked up by the Indiana Pacers. Turner is now a cornerstone player for the Pacers’ franchise alongside emerging superstar guard Victor Oladipo.

Texas is building a very solid track record of bigs sent to the NBA, and former blue-chip five-star prospect Bamba is just the next in line. He averaged a double-double last season, and also nearly four blocks per game. He’s got all the physical tools required to succeed at the next level, and the proven body of work from the 2017-18 college basketball season to back it up.

Here’s the five best landing spots for Mohamed Bamba of the Texas Longhorns in the 2018 NBA Draft.
