Charlotte Hornets. 5. 170. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pick No. 11. Current Center: Dwight Howard. player

Landing a prospect like Bamba is very unlikely at this point in the first round of the draft. However, if the Charlotte Hornets can manage to either trade up to get him, or if he slides a bit, this would be a good situation for him to end up in.

This destination for Bamba is more about the chance to developing in a good system to match his skill set instead of saying that his talent should have him landing outside of the top 10. The opportunity for Bamba to develop behind a naturally gifted center in Dwight Howard, and maybe play with a great point guard in Kemba Walker is huge.

On the other end, the Hornets need some help in the front court. Howard is not the long-term solution here, and they need someone to build around. The backcourt is in a much better situation behind the leadership of Walker, if he stays around in Charlotte for much longer.

Bamba could end up turning into a star for the Hornets in a few years in this scenario. However, the Hornets are the fifth team listed here due to the extreme unlikelihood of him falling this far in the first round. Charlotte could trade up to get him, though.
