Pick No. 2. Memphis Grizzlies. 211. 4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Current Center: Marc Gasol

Mind you, none of the lottery picks are set yet for the 2018 NBA Draft. All these pick numbers are just based off where each team finished in the standings, and what percentage chance they have of landing each position in the first round.

For the Memphis Grizzlies, that spot is the second pick. More than likely, they’ll be picking in the top two along with the Phoenix Suns. And, the Grizzlies have a huge need to find a future solution for the center spot with current starting center Marc Gasol struggling with injuries year after year.

Moreover, even if Gasol stays healthy, he’s getting older and can’t be the guy that puts this team on his shoulders forever. Gasol needs someone else to take some of the pressure off and Bamba could be that guy. Both skill sets compliment each other well, and Gasol is also a good center for Bamba to develop with.

A problem for Bamba could be how long it takes Memphis to get back in playoff contention in the Western Conference given the current state of the roster. The Grizzlies were mainstays in the NBA Playoffs in recent years, but that is bound to change here soon. If Bamba wants to become a true face of a franchise, Memphis is a good place to be.
